The robotic insect flight [VIDEO]

A team of researchers from Cornell University has created a robotic ornithopter weighs 3.89 grams and is able to maintain its flight for 85 seconds . This small insect is made of a thin polyester film, on a carbon fiber frame and was built using a 3D printer, which shortened the time of experimentation for several months.

Although robotics has advanced greatly in recent years to recreate the animal nature of flying insects. But it is impossible for the engineers at Cornell. A team from the University decided to use a 3D printer to create the delicate wings of the robotic ornithopter.
