Pacific Beaches .- tortugarrios This year the National Council of Protected Areas (CONAP ) could release at 138,000 thousand baby sea turtles from their nests on the beaches of the sea.
With the support of collectors ridley turtle eggs ( Lepidochelys olivacea) donating 20 percent of its merchandise CONAP maintains that there are 26 hatcheries in Guatemala and where the turtles "planted" return every year.
While hatcheries is accomplished with the ridley turtle species, the beaches of the Pacific leatherback sea turtles Guatemala ( Dermochelys coriacea e) has withdrawn.
